Selecting a Pianist

 When Quality is Paramount.

Sometimes, you want only the best.  When you’re getting married.  Or hosting friends.  Or responsible for a corporate function.  You want a pianist with talent and skill, yet also one who is proven in hundreds of performances.  Someone who can adapt music and style to a wide variety of ages and backgrounds.  Someone who you feel confident will deliver the level of quality that you deserve.

Key Elegance Services

Key Elegance features Steve Shoaf, a professional pianist who specializes in providing upscale music for elegant occasions, such as wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and elegant dinners and receptions .

Steve plays a wide range of music, spanning from the 1920’s through today, with a focus on pop classics and jazz standards that appeal to a wide range of ages and backgrounds. Steve uses his 88-key keyboard and PA when an existing piano isn’t available.

Steve’s talent and presence at our wedding made it even more spectacular than we could have ever imagined! He was accommodating with the selections, communicated clearly with us as we planned in the months prior to the event, and made such a perfect addition to our ceremony and reception. I cannot tell you how many of our guests commented on Steve’s performance and how unbelievably talented he was. Thank you, Steve, for not only your contribution musically, but also your kindness and flexibility! We HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Steve Shoaf for any event you may be considering!”

About Steve Shoaf

Starting piano lessons at the age of four, Steve quickly developed a knack for music.  During high school, he trained privately under the renowned NC School of the Arts music professor, Dr. Clifton Matthews.  He can play with printed music, but prefers to play by ear, utilizing his unique ability to play any song he’s heard, and easily taking requests, often on the spot.

His influences are the progressive rock of the 70’s like Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers, and the singer-songwriters of that era, including Elton John, Billy Joel, and Carole King.  He has performed with a variety of bands and duos along the East Coast, but likes to focus primarily on solo performances for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, dinner parties, and other elegant events.
